I bought a Security 9 Compact about 14 months ago. I have put about 800 rounds through it. It is my EDC in different configurations. Mostly I use 15 round mags. When deeper concealment is necessary I use a 10 round mag with the flat baseplate. I do not use the 10 mag w/pinky extension because offers no advantage. This photo offers a visual comparison of the three mag options.

I switched from the white sights to the yellow because yellow is a better choice. Here is an article to back that up.

As for the relative size of the gun compared to,payload, I made this comparison chart of my Ruger pistols

The Security 9 Compact provides me with good options and versatility. It is my favorite.

The Security 9 compact or Full Size is a good choice the Magazines are compatible with the Ruger Pc9 Carbine 9mm Rifle . A pistol and rifle of the same caliber and the magazines are also compatible with the Ruger Magazine Adaptor installed in the Ruger PC 9 9mm Carbine is a plus Makes the combo a good choice for a survival Package or a Bugout package as both use the same magazines and ammunition. IF I owned a Security 9 compact I would also invest in the Full-Size Security 9 & the Ruger PC 9 9 MM Carbine Rifle.

Yes Good thinking. I have the Marlin Camp 9 carbine with the S&W 915 pistol combo. 9same mags/same ammo) and it is nice to be able to share magazines.. I also have over a dozen mags on hand at one time if needed for a Bugout bag.
