Guy at work wants to sell this. He wants me to make him a offer. There's rust bad on the barrel and the bolt where you can see it. White paint on the stock. After I cleaned it the bolt works smooth and clicks when you pull the trigger. He did say it would fire.
its hard to tell in the pic,
Is the rust , just surface rust, or is there pitting?
What does the bore look like?
Friend of mine just bought one out of a paun shop. Gun was @ 50% finish, no magazine, rear sight missing. He gave a bill for it. which I thought was a bit much. But he didn't want to buy a new one at Wally World, which was @ 219 when I looked recently. It had little internal wear. barrel rusted, no pits and chips off the receiver finish. But he wanted it and I gave him a mag. He refinished it all in a couple of days and got a new rear sight. Got @ a hundred and a quarter in it now. It's all about what he will take compared to a new one. AND what you are willing to give.
Well I traded a set of ratchet wrenches for it. Got the paint off the stock and now working on the rust on the barrel.
And the barrel after alittle work
Make a good gator gun....."Just choot 'em...."
Put 200rds thru her. Shooting alittle high will have to ajust. Shot it with 3 ruger 10rd mags, 1 butler creek 10rd mag, and 1 25rd ruger bx-25 mag.
Looks like a good swap. Seems to shoot well. If you want to change anything on a 10/22 it's easy. Not bad for a truck gun.
Looks like ya did o.k. on it.
If you clean some of the rust off about 500 dollars or 600
