Kicking around ideas about barrel mod'n/swapping. First I have a VLHE target tactical with the 16" hammer forged bull barrel, I've installed trigger group shims, did the auto bolt release mod, installed an extended mag release, and added a decent scope. I love it! very accurate. I have just replaced the barrel with a bead blasted SS 16" threaded barrel with a 1:11.25 twist rate

I just received my newly acquired Charger and now my mind is racing with the possibilities , Thinking about cutting down my VLHE barrel to about 8", having it threaded, and having another section of it cut and threaded as a thread protector. So my worry is that I might ruin the value of the VLHE and/or the barrel itself, and maybe I should just pony up and buy a barrel for the Charger. I really don't think I'd ever sell either of these, nor my RSI. I have had a few others in the past that have come and gone, but these 3 are the cats meow. I have a cut 16" barrel that I replaced for a friend (came off a 1976 bicentennial) but it was already ruined when he bought the gun, I could always use it to play around with...
