Im new here..... but so is everybody else.

I been somewhat fascinated with some of you guys Avatars and your forum user names. Some are self explaining , others gets me thinking.

So I thought I would share , what mine is symbloic of.

Im 65 yrs old, but have always been a kid at heart. That , can get you into some predicaments, that otherwise , you really shouldnt be in.

I stay in trouble with my lovely bride, more time than I should, due to, as she says "another one of your hairbrained ideas".
I think of it as being creative and adventureous.

We always had a saying around here, about being "IN THE DOGHOUSE", when you got on the bad side of wifey.

Some of my friends , ask if Im in the doghouse today, before coming over to shoot.

In a nutshell my avatar is a symbol of old Fido happily trying to lick his way outta THE DOGHOUSE, where he spends way too much time.

To try and save a little dignity, I thought PHIDEAUX was a little classier
than FIDO.

I cant possibly go into details , of things I do to end up there.

I would like to hear some of you guys stories about yours.

Aside from wife and family, my avatar reflexes the 3 things in life that are the most important to me. Pretty self explanatory.

As for the username, at the time that I chose the handle, the T/C Greyhawk 50 cal. was my favorite rifle. Spent many an hour at the range making smoke and sending round balls down range. Since that time, my eyes have failed to the point that I can't see iron sights. Add to that the fact that my son expressed a serious interest in owning it - so I gave it to him and replaced it with a more modern rifle that was drilled and taped for optics. The handle just stuck.

I named my pet Guinea Pig Phideaux way back when. It is the only faux French I know....except Parley Voo a hubbahubba.

I had the little pig way back in the early 70's and when I left town for a month or so I had a friend watch my 3 buddies...Phideaux, Bennie and Charlene. I wanted a dog but couldn't have one in the apartment so I got mini dogs...Guinea Pigs, and named one Phideaux.

When I went back to get them my friend said her dogs ate them.

The avatar is of my dog I found in October one morning on my way to work. His name is Mud. I almost ran him over, and almost drove into a ditch. When I opened my door he was on me real fast, but instead of attacking me he jumped in my lap and then into the passenger seat of my TranAm. I live in a rural area in the woods. I drove around asking if he was any of their dogs, but everyone said how mean he was and that some one dropped him their a few days earlier. He don't like many people and ain't scared to let them know. Especial the neighbors lama and sheep when they come over haha.
I use the name as a statement. If your are scared ( not cautious ) Id say you have squirrel nuts. I facetious statement
I tend to say my opinion when I have one no matter the consequence. Maybe I'll out grow that behavior?

I use different avatars based on the forum. Since this is a Ruger forum, I use a photo of my Ruger Standard that my father bought brand new in 1950 for $37.50. In an AR forum I belong to, I use a photo of me shooting my AR. I only use photos in avatars that I have taken myself.

As for my user name, wingspar. I am a pilot and an aircraft owner, and a wing spar is the main structural beam in a wing. In aviation forums, I use a photo of my aircraft as my avatar. I use the same username no mater what forum I belong to.
