Shiner, TX here!
I usually don't drink beer. But when I do, it has to be Shiner!!!! Prefer Shiner Bock. It's a Texas thing. Was with some of my old college buds in May at a class reunion at Lake McQueeny/New Braunsfels. One bought a house there. on the island with boat and all.
Bill Miller BBQ/sausage etc. and Shiner Bock. Only 8 of us showed up. We are having the reunions every 5 years now cause alot of them died off. Mght be more often now.
Werstfest is coming around in Oct. already. Haven't been since 76. We had to drag the girlfriend, now wife out of there by the heels.Too much of that German beer........ again.
Wished I coulda been back ditching class and tubing the river at San Marcos with a cooler of Shiner. But instead, I had to eat lunch at the River Pub, drink a Shiner and watch all the kids tube it.
It's a beeeetch getting old. Well, at least I can still drink a Shiner
Oh yeah, this is a location thread for where I am not where I would rather be.
Living in the brush country of deep south Texas. Just a ranchito located on an old oilfield map, known as "La Parrita." It is an area that was once known as Flowella, Tx, which was long forgotten when I was born. Population in this county is 6K urban and @ 3K rural. That varies according to the number of illegal aliens, drug smugglers and coyotes that make it past the Falfurias, Texas border patrol checkpoint on U.S. 281. Any of you Texicans traveling south on this highway have gone past the chckpoint coming or going. Or maybe you have seen it on "Border Wars" on the history channel. Don's stop. It ain't worth it anymore. Take the new bypass.
Just living in the armpit of hell. But, I like it here.
Almost forgot. Wife wanted me to post this. We went to eat here on the 4th. Great seafood family style. Off U.S. 77 @ 40miles sout of Corpus Christi. Just take a left at Riviera, Tx. going south before you get to the Sarita, Texas border patrol checpoint. Follow the sighs. Been there forever at Loyola Beach Texas. King's Inn. Fine seafood on Baffin Bay. Great staks too.
