I had to do some shopping last night and what did I see?

Santa ringing the Salvation Army bell.

I am positive that they used to wait until at LEAST after Thanksgiving.

    Right?

Am I remembering it wrong in my old age?

It's not too early and quit calling me Shirley.....Sorry,couldn't resist. :D :cryinglaugh:

You're right, they use to wait until after Thanksgiving. Our town use to wait until after Thanksgiving to put up the Christmas decorations on the poles through the center of town but over 10 years ago they started doing it before.

Maybe it's because Christmas is labeled "season", so can be stretched.

Commercialism reigns supreme. All past traditions and timetables must give way to the bottom lines of business. It's disgusting.

I don't know.......it's all about buying as much junk as you can, as fast as you can. We so the majority of our Christmas shopping online anyways......

My wife and I were shopping at Fries, they were putting up Christmas. One of them asked how I was and I answered "I would be better had you waited until after Thanksgiving". They didn't respond.:D

Christmas is a year long season. Just look at all the Wal-Mart stores and Target stores and see how many have X-mas decorations up already. Today in Az we are having a Black Friday sale. Don't know what that means but I can speculate.

Halloween is the opening for Christmas push now. I was seeing Christmas sitcom reruns about that time. Tis the season of who gets your bucks first.
It used to be nothing was open on Thanksgiving but now the stores compete with who is going to open first. It is said more Christmas trees are sold on black Friday than all other days combined.
