I recently ordered a 20 in. Fluted barrel by green mountain barrel from midsouthshootersupply.com ad the sent me a 20 in. Fluted barrel with a stinger chamber. So I was wondering if the stinger chamber will affect accuracy, velocity or anything else if I use non-stinger ammunition?

    • length - 0.735

    Bentz:

So will it effect the accuracy of standard 22 lr ammo?

It would depend on the specific ammo, in that specific rifle... just like all other rifles.

0.056 inch is really to small to affect accuracy of standard 22 LR. In theory it should or could but in real life it's affect will not be noticeable. It does help function to a good extent, match chambers are cut very tight and that becomes a problem when things get a little dirty. Your rifle will prefer certain brands and only range testing will tell you which ones. Having the option of using Stingers is good and I would order a barrel this way. Don't worry , shoot and enjoy.

Thanks Gary! I actually just shot it last night and I worked great! I was able to hit a 1 inch target fairly consistently from 50 yards with standard velocity ammunition
