Just curious if it's safe to use steel case ammo in a Mini 30. I have heard people say the firing pin will break and others say its just a rumor. I have an Arsenal SGL20 and a lot of steel case ammo in that caliber but I don't want to hurt the rifle. Any advice would be helpful.

With a Mini-30, a guy just doesn't have many options for ammo. I've gone exclusively with Silver Bear, the zinc-plated Russian steel-cased ammo...no problems thus far after many rounds...

Same here; prolly 300 rounds thru my SS Mini 30; one light strike, no complaints.

I've shot a few hundred rounds of Tula and about a hundred rounds of Herters through my Mini-30 with no problems.

If your gun won't run steel case ammo, it's a POS.
