Hi,
I just picked up my new stainless SR45. Pretty excited about it as I think it is a great design.

So, I take it down to clean and lube, and run into an issue during reassembly. When putting the slide back onto the frame the barrel's feed ramp seems to be catching on the frame. It is possible that I am doing something stupid but I own 6 other semi autos and have been taking them down for 15 years... It isn't too complicated. Any tips or anybody else have a similar issue?

I cock the action on mine and it reassembles that way easily.

what does the manual say. i founf my sr9c to assemble diffrrently than my others

Gotta be a little glitch and/or you're missing something. I have an SR45 and SR9C and they are the easiest guns to breakdown and reassemble I own.

My only issue is the SR45 barrel is kind of hard to pull out and slip back in. It gets better each time it's done though it still isn't as smooth as it should be.

Go by the manual line by line and see if some thing is being missed.

So, I got it together... Ended up giving it a whack from the front to get over whatever it is catching on. Still pretty sure something is wrong there. I went to the range yesterday and went through about 15 rounds, 1/3 of which were FTF, before calling it a day. I'm wondering if the resistance on the slide is causing it to cycle funky or if it is just the light strike issue I have read is caused by shipping grease. I had only cleaned what can be reached in a field strip... and given the other issues rather than clean myself I think I will reach out to Ruger to see if they can make sure everything is right.

On the bright side the ten or so times it did go boom showed it has a nice soft recoil... I thought softer than 1911s I had shot in the past.

Best to let Ruger look at it from the sound of things. Something definitely wrong. Should be fixed and back in no time, or a new one in it's place.
