hi guys,, i thought i read somewhere that the early sr762 rifles had some problems and ruger worked them out somewhere after the 8000 mark??

can any of you guys help me with this?? i found a used one but not sure about the born on date

does the serial no start with xxx-08xxx?? is the no after the hyphen what i'm looking for??

There were some that had FTF issues with the Gen II Pmags, they shipped with. But, it could be overcome by using other brands of LR style mags. If you sent one back to Ruger, they would test them and return it with mags known to work.

One of the guys I shoot with has one that he had to send back, and they sent it back with steel bodied mags. Now that he has a thousand rounds through it, it will shoot with the pmag Gen III mags that I have.
