I recently purchased a Ruger GP-100 in 38 Cal. Serial #176-25948.Can anyone tell me the year this gun was manufactured and how I can get an owners manual. Since it was a used revolver there was only a spattering of paperwork with the gun.
    Thanks, Jim22

I doubt Ruger did a special owner's manual for the 38spl version of the GP100. You can get any Ruger owner's manual off of the Ruger website.

Did Ruger make a specific GP100 in 38 Spl?

I was thinking specific 38 Spl in the double action frame was a Security Six?

    Just asking.....

You could be right. However there is no indication on the gun referring to a Security Six model. Was that model still being made in 2011, which I think, is when this gun was manufactured?

Ruger did make a 38 spec. GP-100. Mine is a 4" fixed site GP. They also made a 3" with adjustable and fixed sites in 38spec. Those may have been a dealer exclusive. Mine was a short lived regular production model that dates to around 1999-2000.
