I've seen the 8301 and 8308 packages online from different vendors for the Ruger American Rimfire with different prices but can't seem to figure out the difference. Anyone know? The 8308 seems to be a little cheaper in general. Thanks!!!
The only thing I could find to be different is the 8308 comes with four stock inserts (shooters kit) verses the 8301 two inserts. Other than that the rifles are identical. The additional stock inserts allow you to change length of pull from 13.75 to 12.5 as well as the comb height for scope or open sights. I found it listed with description on www.ableammo.com. Couldn't find any reference to it on Ruger site.
The barrel length is different In case you are still interested, I called Ruger about this exact same question. They confirmed it. Gunbuyer seems to have the specs right. 8301 - 22inch https://www.gunbuyer.com/rug-american-22lr-22-blk-syn-10rd-rug-8301-c.html 8308 - 18inch https://www.gunbuyer.com/rug-8308-amer-rfc-kit-22lr-blk-syn-1725.html
