Does anyone have a Ruger American Rifle set up with medium rings and a 3x9x50? I am curious if it will fit or I just need to stick with the 3x9x40. Thanks

I don't have the American, but I know your reason for asking.

Are you mounting the rings on the receiver or to a picatinny/weaver rail?
It will depend on the rise/style of the rail also. My rail is slightly raised and has clearance to eject empty.

I mounted a 6x20x50 ( yeah I know, too much...but OMG)scope on my Savage FVSR .22,using a picatinny rail, and medium rings. Low would not work, and high was TOO high.
Ended up with about 1/16th inch clearance with lens cover. PERFECT.

No I will not be using the picatinny rail. I bought a one piece scope rings and its medium.

Forget to mention I bought the Game Reaper scope mount.
