I love both of these but very disappointed that they are right hand only. Ruger has never left us lefties out before. I understand the original was never southpaw but really do you have to be literal. Please don't make go buy some else's 1911 which I will do if you can't help us southpaw guys and gals!

Forever A Ruger fan!

Hope they make a 4.25 inch light weight commander
Maybe they will make a lefty model.
I sure like my SR1911. I hope you will be able to get one that suits you.
Yeah...its a bummer.....really loved the new Commander....:(
I have the SR1911 and it is a great shooter. Currently first on the list for the new SR1911-CMD when it arrives at my LGS.
Would like to get the ruger 1911 but theyre hard to come by. Who here has shot one and out it thru the ringer? More than 1500 rounds and have gone thru a class with it? For me i would add an arched mainspring housing and short trigger with slim stocks

I haven't gone through a class with mine but it easily has 1500+ through it.
I have shot many types of HP defense ammo without a failure. I ran many hundreds of my 230 grain fmj reloads through it,and am currently shooting 200 grain LSWC for punching paper. It will eat anything I have tried.
I have use Kimber, Wilson Combat and Ruger magazines interchangably without problems.
Pretty sure I will buy the next sub-$700 Ruger 1911, prefer the Commander but will take either.

I don't currently own a 1911 and need to add one to the collection, although my wife keeps reminding me I don't like 1911's. Of course having owned and sold 20 of them over the years probably doesn't help with my track record.
Sr 1911

Love my SR1911 from Ruger they hit the mark on this one--when its american made its for me !!
Awesome to hear jima. Im definitely going to get one. Just wish i didnt sell some of my guns but had to. Miss my custom lw cmdr and trp. Only some minor changes to the ruger ill make. Totally awesome to hear u shot ur ruger alot. Thank u very much.

wish I could find an SR1911, my dealer is on the list.
Bought mine a few months ago & waiting for the nice weather to come in & take it out & break it in. I bought a couple of Trips Cobra mags 7 rounders to carry in my SR1911. Heard nothing but good about these mags from LEO who carry 1911's on duty & they depend their lives on these mags.? Well that was good enough for me. I will be loading them with Fed HST 230 Gr. ammo for SD.
After watching my LGS for the past year, I finally got ahold of an SR1911, my first 1911. Got it to,the range for the first time last weekend. All I can say is S-WEEET!
I need to replace my SS Taurus PT1911 that took a walk a week ago. When the panic buying ends,I will look at the Ruger 1911 model.I like stainless 1911s.:)
