Morning folks new here as of today.
    I have a question for 77/22 and 77/17 shooters.
I bought a 77/17 all weather yesterday at the Ohio Gun Collectors Show.
The gun has just one magazine , I also have a 77/22 all weather that I have several magazines for. By comparison the magazines look the same ,in size and both will fit into and seat in either gun. The cases are both made from the 22 mag. case. The 17 is just necked down.

Running the 17 through the 22 mag works well with out firing them. By manipulating the rounds through working the bolt I had no problems the round seated every time.
Has anyone else used the mags for both or had a problem trying. I have 8 22Mags trying to not buy more if not needed.

    Thanks in advance !

    Welcome to Rugertalk,

I moved your first post here to introductions,

    Thanks for joining.

I cant see any reason the 22 mag mags wouldn't work , if as you say , they feed and seat every time.

    Welcome to the forum.
I imagine there are some members here that have experience in what you are asking. It seems to me if they feed correctly from the 22 magazines then you got it licked.

Ruger uses the same mag for several cartridges in the RAR series. My .22-250 uses the same mag as the .243 and the .308. Chances are very good that your two mags have the same stock number.

    BTW Welcome to RT.
