My daughter recently purchased a new LCP Max from a local retailer. On the first trip to the range she was having difficulty hitting a 12x12 target at 5yds. When i shot the pistol i realized the point of aim, out of the box, was 6 inches low and 5 inches left at 5 yds! Great groups just nowhere remotely close to the sight picture. Since she lives alone in a major metro area i gave her one of my G3Cs which she shot very well and i now have the LCP Max. I checked on several forums and of course YouTube to find this is a common though undefined problem. When i contacted ruger customer service a vey very polite young lady named Jessica informed me, after being put on hold for her to ask someone else i suppose, that they could in fact fix the gun. However since i was not the original purchaser ruger doesn't consider me a legal owner and will not fix it our provide replacement parts for it. Moral of the story i suppose is private buyers beware. If you don't meet rugers definition of a legal owner you ain't getting any customer service from them.
