I have posted this on another site that I frequent and wanted to include it here. The last two boxes of factory PPU 7.62X54R had two cases with very loose primer pockets when I went to reload them. I hand prime and while I was priming these two cases and felt almost no resistance so I tapped the edge of the flange on the table and the primer in one came completely out and the other came almost out. Probably just a lot number problem, never happened before, but it's another example of inspection each time we handle each case.
Yeah, that's always good advice. I reload my own 7.62x54r as well using spent brass from PPU factory rounds and have never had any problems with them, but am always looking out for issues like that.
Yeah, I've reloaded several PPU cases and not a problem. I figure it was a problem in that lot number. So I'll keep using the PPU brass just inspect thoroughly.
