Took my new Ruger American Rimfire to the range today and put about 250 rounds of Federal Auto Match (LRN) through it. 100% functioning and very good accuracy. This is a great little shooter. The bolt action is extremely smooth and the trigger is excellent, just excellent. Ruger is gonna sell a zillion of these. I put a Leupold VX1 2-7x28mm Rimfire scope on the rifle and this seems to be a very good combination. It was very easy to dial in a bull's-eye setting at 25 yards.

I have an identical rig in .22WMR. The RAR .22WMR is super accurate.

I have 2 RAR's one in a 22 LR and one in a 17 HMR and both are great shooters and very accurate at 75 to100 yards.

Have you shot Marlin or Savage bolt actions in 17 HMR to get a comparison? Both are extremely accurate out to 150 and I've been curious how the Ruger matches up....

I have shot a Marlin bolt action that my friend has,it is very accurate at the same distance as the RAR.I am just a Ruger fan at heart.
