I just won a Gun Broker auction for a New Model Single Six 17 HMR revolver, the gun was listed as "new" I'm happy with the gun but I see that the "spent case" envelope is dated 3/18/2014 making the gun almost 7 years old. I don't have a issue with the age but am wondering if it is the same as guns being built today.

I couldn't say, since both of my Single Sixes date to the early 1970's.
