Welcome from Iowa. How does that .357 Bisley shoot? I always kind of liked those but never had the chance to shoot one...

Spikedriver, love Iowa, some of the friendliest people I've ever met. I'm an old pheasant hunter and would make a trip out to Iowa every other year for about 12 years running, then the birds disappeared.
Hunted in and around Oskaloosa, Vinton, Elkader,Russell and Storm Lake.
    Wifes grandmother was from Clermont.
My Ruger Bisley is the older model, bigger and heavier than the new model.
I love the extra weight and enjoy shooting 38's out of her, the 357 are to loud.

Yeah the birds are gone, too many farm chemicals, too many hard winters and wet springs, and all the grassland cover is gone. Used to be able to limit out by 9am on opening day every year. Now you dont even see that many birds in a whole day and they're too spooky to get close enough to shoot anyway unless you have good dogs. Agreed on the 357s being too much of a good thing...38s are for fun, 357s are for business! Anyway Enjoy the forum and have safe shooting!
