In my opinion Ruger's AR-556 MPR is one gun that can do it all. In a short time the Ruger AR-556 has become the direct-gas-impingement M4-style AR-15 rifle of choice for many people. It offers everything you need in a well-made reliable package with a few unique Ruger touches.

Just picked mine up last week, Ruger AR556 MOE 08515, very nice. My first AR, my 6th current Ruger. With all the uncertainty with our current idiots in D.C. I figured it was time to get one and stock up on ammo!

Yup, I got one to add to the rest of the gang in the safe. It's my general purpose rifle now ..... short enough for CQC and home defense, accurate enough for more tactical outside scenarios. Fun to shoot. Looks great. Love the weight, too. The muzzle brake seriously reduces muzzle flip. 9 times out of 10, it's the rifle I pull out for range day because it's such a joy to shoot.

I hate it when there's an empty hole in the safe!

The M193 type rounds, especially Winchester white box, are the absolute best choice for self-defense in the 10-50 yard range

I think this might be my next rifle purchase in .300 Blackout followed by starting the NFA paperwork for a suppressor for it. The reviews I've read say it's about as loud as a stapler when suppressed.
