I am seriously considering getting an AR 556. It will be my first AR since my issued weapon in USMC 20 plus years ago. Now that it has been out for a while and some of you have had some time to play with them, what do you think?

It's a great gun....you will be more than pleased with a Ruger AR556. I installed a Burris AR-332 scope on mine and cant believe how accurate it shoots......go get ya one....

I paid $600 for mine last week at 4 Seasons Guns in Woburn. Looking forward to some range time with it.

Just picked up one of these at my local gun show for $600. I have yet to take it the range but already I am very pleased. After comparing my new AR with a couple of my buddies I was pleased to find out that there is very little "play" between the upper and lower receiver without having installed a wedge. Also Ruger's delta ring enhancement makes it a whole lot easier to remove the hand gaurds.

Might be a stupid question but considering a AR556 as my first AR. Is there any issue with adding optics with the stock front post? Seems like there would be some interference and I would like to avoid raising the sight itself.

Just purchased an AR-556. Very impressed with the firearm especially since it cost the price of a handgun. Very accurate firearm.

Beautiful AR.....I installed one of the Burris AR-332 3X Prism Sights. Love that it has a black, red and green reticle color setting.....

I just got a AR556 as well and am looking at the Burris AR332. Have you had any issues with it?

I just got my new Ruger AR-556......this is my first AR. Super excited to get out to the range.....I also just ordered a new Burris AR-332 red dot for it.....If anybody is still on this site, hope to have a range report soon....

I think that Ruger AR-556 is really good choice.
