My Ranch version was already drilled and tapped so it just has regular Weaver mounts with a Bushnell scope.

I'm new at the mini-14 game butt have a 185 model got the B-Mount set it up with a P-223 and was all over paper went away from it and at 50yrs. just awesome, My thinking would be drill tap hope this helps and save you some money. Hope to see some old timers on the board that might chime in.
