I have an old model 357 Blackhawk with a 4 5/8 in. barrel. I would like to replace the stainless steel ejector rod housing with a blue one to match the blued gun. My question is do I specifically need one for an old model or are they all the same. Also are they barrel length specific or are all lengths the same. Thanks.

Go ont the Ruger site. They have a 4 in and a 5 in steel ejector rod cover for sale . You will need the 4 in. The ejector rod cover is the same except for a few very early models that had a lug brazed on the barrel for the screw to attach too to hold the ejector rod cover. That was changed fairly early, into just having a screw go directly into the barrel, no lug needed, That is how they all are today.
