I bought an LCR back in Spring of '09. The visible tip of the barrel is black. I bought another LCR in March of '14. The visible tip of the barrel is shinny, like polished stainless steel or chrome. Is there a difference other than color?

    Thanks for any information.

To answer my question. Sturm Ruger says; "There is no difference other than color".

It probably is just one of those generational differences that Ruger changed between model years. I purchased a LCR in 2013 and it has a chrome-ended barrel. Sometimes manufactures will change little things every couple years such as finish, markings, etc. Just my 2 cents. Hope this helps.
