Just bought a lcp max at academy sports and picked up a Ruger 12 rd mag at the same time. I can not get the 12 rd mag to take more than 10 rds. even pushing with the stupid mag loader, it will only take 10. is there some kind of 10rd state law compliance tab I need to cut off?

Are you sure it's a 12 round mag and not just a 10 round mag with a pinky extension?
I just got the replacement mag from ruger and guess what! The mag follower was in backwards. Maybe the spring too, I'll compare it to the replacement one. But I flipped the follower on the spring and like magic, it took 12 rounds! It had come this way from ruger, in a sealed package right off the shelf at Academy Sports.
