I love Savage bolt action rifles.
I got this Savage MarkII FVSR, Fluted , threaded bull barrel, about 3 weeks ago, just to experiment with barrel bedding affects on accuracy ,vs freefloat.
been getting it ready for its first outting(if weather cooperates).
I might do a nifty little paint job on it also.:)

This is it so far. Added Barska 6X20X50 scope, B-square scope rings, Yankee Hill muzzle brake, Allen tactical sling, 10round Savage magazine.

    Hey fido,

The little gun looks smokin' good. Hope it shoots as good as it looks.

I tried to pic up another Sav 110 this weekend in .270. One of my favorite cas. Howcver the gunshow mojo wasn't working all weekend. guy wanted 3 bills with the "package" scope on it. I offered up to 250 which was more than I usually do. Nope not a bit off it. Saw alot of good handguns, but the guys were all wanting what they paid for them and not giving up a nickle off. Worse than the gun dealers at the show. I really tried. Did get one finally on Suday. I'll do a post on it.

I am truly a Savage fan,
I have them in 30-06,.308.223, and now .22LR.

    Looking for a nice one in .270, 300wm,and .17.

Well I been playing around, speermintin,
I had in my mind to try somehow to get an alligator skin texture , but not real aggressive.
So I played around with the fish net hose, and it turned out pretty close to what I wanted. Somewhat of a gator/snake texture.
Its really hard to tell from the pics .

BTW I did zero this scope in at 100 yrds , a few days ago , and just took my first groundhog ,about an hour ago, at 130 yards.

    Lookin' good Jim...!!

What's the procedure to take it from before to after...

I've played around with fishnet hose once...but I had to give the stripper up when the wife found out !! ;)

    First ...dont get caught.;)

I start by sanding the syn stock lightly with 400 grit, then spray a specified plastic primer from rustoleum, Then ususlly I put the base coat(this will be your net color, burgundy here) normally let that dry 24 hrs before pulling on the net. But I wanted to see if I could get a hackled texture look by putting the net on early(after only 1 hr)then remove it shortly(30 min) after spraying it with black top coat. It did have the raised hackled feel and texture. Now I resprayed with base Burgundy ,let dry 24 hours, again pull net oner stock, spray with black top coat, let dry 24 hours, remove net.
Then clear with as many coats as make you happy.

Keeps me almost out of trouble.:D
