IMR 4227 is my go to powder for .30 carbine.
I believe (from memory) I use 14 gr under a 110 gr bullet, runs between 1800 to 1900 fps.

IMR4227 is not the zippiest powder for .22 Hornet, but it produces good accuracy and burns clean. The same or better results hold in .44 Magnum, in loads that are at least 'warm'. Reduced loads don't burn well.

I don't do reduced loads I've reloaded 35 yrs, You get best results with a filled case I've been in discussions with Old Armys filling half of cylinder with corn meal Now, if you can cook little round corn breads in that OA,,, count me in But , until Betty Crocker figures out a way, I'm doing 40 grains!
