Anyone else hooked on these non-selling, too expensive to manufacture, discontinued old Ruger .44 Magnum carbines like I am?

Ah. I had never seen one. At 2nd glance there is a suggestion of the M1 carbine - though I don't really know why.

Actually that's the most recent addition and I haven't had a chance to fire anything out of it yet. I've tore it all the way down for a thorough cleaning and put it back together

It's crazy what prices those 99/44's are going for now, but it sure is a neat little carbine

Yep, I'm kicking myself for not buying one back in 04 when I first held one.

I ordered a Weigand mount for the 99/44 so that I can install an Aimpoint on it. That Weaver K2.5-1 on the older carbine is really a neat little scope and surprisingly clear. The lever action has a Leupold shotgun scope on it with the circle crosshairs reticle. I'd definitely recommend this setup to anyone wanting a magnified scope for one of these carbines
