Hi everybody. Didn't mean I was necessarily old but I bought my first Ruger in 1982 at 24 years of age, while stationed at Cherry Point, NC. It's a New Model Super Blackhawk in .357 Magnum and is still just as accurate today as it was when it came out of the box. A little over about 18 months ago I was in the market for a 1911 and I wish Ruger had come out with theirs earlier. At that time they didn't have one out yet and as someone who lives on a fixed income I was looking for something well built and dependable but not super expensive ala Kimber. I did a lot of research and ended up buying a Taurus PT-1911 and I'm extremely satisfied with it. Just wish I'd had a shot at the Ruger!

Been bumping around in here for a week or so reading comments and throwing one in occasionally. It is very interesting, informative and down right pleasing to encounter such a group where we can have a civil conversation about fire arms.
