...from Florida. An odd thing happened on my way to buy a Colt Peacmaker, I made a unplanned stop and without conscious thought and decision I bought a Ruger Vaquero instead. This is a puzzlement. It is my hope that with patient inquiry and your help I may begin to find out why.

Welcome to RT.
You came here to find out why you unconsciously bought a Ruger gun? It doesn't have to make sense why we buy a gun we really don't need or know about. That's why they say guns are dangerous, they jump right out at us and before we know it out the door it goes with us.
I don't have a Vaquero so I don't know the good on it. I do know that Ruger has sold a bunch of them over many years so they must be pretty darn good guns.
Colt peacemakers are a little hard to find I thought and can be expensive for a really nice one. What year was the Colt PM? I have heard a lot of good about them also. I bought a Colt Python many months ago. That's why I eat beans for dinner 5 nights a week now.

The Colt is the girl every guy wants when he sees her; thin, sexy, pretty little thing. The Ruger is the girl you marry; beautiful, voluptuous, doesn't need to be coddled, but appreciates it just the same, and she'll never let you down.

Oh yeah, almost forgot- welcome!

Welcome to RugerTalk,

I never bought a gun that I didn't like,

Now , there are some I like more than others, but my Rugers are the dearest to me.
You bought it cuz you liked it, and you will over time ....love it.
