I just inherited my father's ruger revolver collection and his single six is in pretty bad shape. He bought it new in about 1970 and was never more than an arms length away from it. As it functions perfect and will never be sold I want to have it factory refinished but would also like to keep it original as it is an old model without the transfer bar. Does anyone know if ruger will give the old parts back so I could convert it back to original?

Welcome to the forum and congrats on your new collection.

From what I have read and heard, they are suppose to send the old parts back. You may want to contact the facotry to be sure. Ihave never sent one back for any reason. I have one old model Black Hawk in .357, but it is still like new and will probably remain that way. I don't shoot them enough to put finish wear on them.
