I just got a new Ruger Super Blackhawk 44 mag. This is my first single action revolver, super excited. Already ordered a set of black grips from Ruger. Been awhile since I bought a blued gun. Forgot how beautiful they are when you wipe them down. Cant wait to shoot the "hand cannon"...:)

NICE! I went with the Hogue grips. It is a hand cannon, tight grip the first couple of shots. After about 20 rounds, the ejector rod will heat up and your finger tip will slide down the barrel. Hot stuff. But it is accurate! Have fun, I still am with mine.

I told you about your inventory line getting longer than your posts! LOL;)

Another new toy, awesome.. Definitely a great looking piece, hopefully just as lovely to shoot.

I was just looking at the Blackhawk last night the blued Bisley in 45 colt... Figure I am in AZ, probably time I get me a cowboy combo.

    Its sure is a beauty.
    We got twins.:D

I love mine also, and yes, it is very accurate.

    I had mine magnaported,
If you look real close beside the front site , you may be able to see the port. It really made a big difference in recoil, and follow up shots.

I know you will enjoy it.

Started with a Blackhawk myself - a 5 1/2" 45 Colt one. 20 years later it's still here and many others have joined it although just a couple in .44 magnum. Just something classically appealing about the design.

Hey BR4, I was just looking online. Ammotogo.com has .44 FMJ in stock for a reasonable price. I ordered 4 boxes for stock pile.

Follow up shots? With single action? Are you fanning? Hahaha!

OP: I'm jealous for sure. I miss my 44 more than any gun I've sold. I'm saving for another. It's definitely the sweet spot for power: size ratio. 445 super mag, 460, 500...all on massive unnatural frames. 454 Casull, 480 Ruger....definitely better round, but you're fairly roped to a 5-shot setup in cowboy guns. 6-shot in the Super Redhawk, but it's not as pretty as the Redhawk or Super Blackhawk.

Oh yeah...doesn't fanning it help keep it cool? (lol)

Normally ,you never need a followup shot with that .44 mag.:D

That Magnaport does make it a lot easier on an old man though.
