That is an awesome lookin' 1911...but that price is a down payment on a new Jeep.

My LGS has both models 4" and 5" in his case for $1200 each.

I think thats one of the best looking pistols ever.

I would be interested if they shoot as good as they look.

I actually own the very first S&W .45acp semi-auto platform made in 1985...the Model 645. It wasn't a true 1911...as it was a double/single action pistol. The Model 745 was their very first single action 1911 venture...

A little trivia on the M645...

The S&W M645 was used in Miami Vice by the character Vice Detective Sonny Crockett in seasons 3 and 4 of the TV series.

Journalist Hunter S. Thompson took his own life with an S&W M645 on February 20, 2005 after battling numerous medical issues.

I can understand why they used it in the show, its darn purty.

    Beautiful gun,

Must be a good reliable shooter too, suicide for sure.

Smiths have such a great reputation, dont think you could go wrong with any one of them. I only got 2.

The Scandium Alloy frame is one of the reasons for the high price.

I have a Smith and Wesson 1911PD with a Scandium Alloy frame.
