Today I broke down and bought a Chip McCormick mag. I had 1 Ruger mag whereas the spring was so strong I could only load 4 rounds in the 7 round mag. My 8 round mag I can only get 7 rounds in as the springs are so tight. So I got the 7 round McCormick mag and am going to give it a try. I usually leave them loaded and then try to push another round in for full capacity. I sent 1 7 round mag back to Ruger and they sent me another right away. Has anyone else had the same problem and will my mag change help? This is for my Ruger SR1911.

I am having problems with a new Chip McCormick mag. The spring inside doesn't seem to push the bullet up enough so it will chamber. It is a 7 round mag. I am wondering if anyone else has had any problems with his mag. So far I have seen where people have used them but
I have heard any good or bad comments. Does anyone have any comments for me?

I use Chips , and Kimber mags in my SA 1911 RO,
    Never had any problems,

But I usually polish/stone the sharp edge lips before using them,
some are sharped edges than others.

I'm running Chips (10 rd) and Ruger Mags (7 rd) in mine without any problems.
