Ruger will only sell a barrel if you send in the pistol, and then it will be original cal.. The .40 slide is slightly bigger. At this point I know of no one that makes after market barrels.

And, you can most likely purchase a new SR40 for the same (or close to) amount of money that you would spend on a conversion kit.

I wouldn't be in line to pull the trigger on a barrel swapped out 40 to 9. $400+ for a new caliber gun is much cheaper than a hand or other body parts due to a blown up semi auto.
