Can anyone identify what this cartridge is ? It was found at the range and the Head Stamp is .223 bulge in the center of the cartridge neck was made with some sort of die ? I am a stumped monkey on this one. The neck is about .30 caliber or a little bigger. Does anyone know what this is ??? Is this some sort of Wild Cat Cartridge ????

I agree. Any way you look at it... Screw Up, or Just BS.
That ain't a chamber that will chamber that bulge.

Looks like someone screwed up!
I Think someone slam-fired the 300 blackout cartridge or fired 223 in a 300 blackout. My friend found it picking up brass left on the range.

I have seen a few people throw a 300blk round in a 5.56 AR by accident. In those instances, the case head ruptured every time, but I suppose the result of what you found could happen. I wonder what the guy's rifle ended up looking like. Since a 223 will not chamber in a 300blk, my guess is the case would look far worse if it fired out of battery.
