I have a Hawkeye Alaskan 338
  • MODEL NUMBER: 57101
  • CALIBER: 338 WIN MAG
  • Factory 1/2-32 threading for the factory muzzle brake
  • OSS Silencer OSS HX-QD MAGNUM TI with a QD muzzle brake with 3/4-24 threads
  • Can I use an adaptor to go from 1/2-32 to 3/4-24 or is this rifle unfit for a silencer?

Just get a Suppressor with a 1/2 -32 Threading it will quiet down that muzzle blast a little but the round will still be loud going down range because it travels above the speed of sound.

I have quite a few suppressors, my concern is the 1/2x32 thread mounting on the barrel. Will the 1/2-32 thread provide a secure enough mounting surface for a 338 Win Mag with an adaptor that brings the 1/2-32 to 5/8-24 that is required for the OSS Muzzle brake.

I am thinking the adaptor would be a weak point I would use only single point because of that reason.
