I have a Ruger AR 556- I have built a second AR (they are addicting, I love my Ruger but have built one in a slightly different configuration, Legos for adults, eh)

Anyway the BCG I ordered for my second gun was fouled and jammed excessively so it was retuned and it'll be three or four weeks before I get it back.

I used the ruger one to sight my scope in while waiting on the other one to come in. My friend who's been teaching me (he is a Marine, so I trust his advice.... but I'm impatient) said its bad to switch BCGs inbetween different rifles. Does anyone know if this is true. Will using that BCG while I wait for my other one cause any harm or damage to the ruger BCG?

Thank you in advance
