I'm in the process of adding an RDS to my SR22. But, before doing so I thought I'd take it to the range to verify some ammo compatibility in case the additional weight results in ammo related issues down the road. I took along a box of Winchester Power-Point, a box of Herter's (Cabela's private brand), and some trusty CCi mini-mags. I've had problems with the Herter's 22lr in the past in my TX22 but I neglected to do any kind of ammo compatibility firing with that gun prior to mounting its RDS thus my interest in doing so with the SR22. In a nutshell, the Herter's gave me problems from the start in the SR22 - FTE, stove-pipes, failures to load, failures to lock the slide after last round, all occurred with the first 10 rounds. I fired the PP today with no such failures in either the SR22 or TX22. I've had great success with Herter's 9mm 115 FMJ range ammo but I definitely cannot say the same for their 22lr.
