Is the stock OEM trigger on the SP101 Match Champion better than the older SP101?

I had an SP101 327 and the DA was really heavy. That was one reason I sold it. The other reason was I didn't like the recoil when shooting 327 mags. It is a pretty gun for sure but looks just wasn't my concern.

I have heard with a trigger job they are much better.

The action on the Match Champion is a lot smoother than my standard SP101 but is still a bit on the heavy side. I will probably put a 12lb Wolff spring replacement in it. It comes from the factory with polished internals and hammer and trigger shims.

Not going to do anything until I've put at least a thousand rounds through it. My 3" SP101 has improved on it's own with use.

The very first target I shot with the Match Champion at 25'.



No need to adjust the sights...just need a little more practice time with it to eliminate some of the flyers!!

That's what my targets look like when I am shooting a rifle at 25', with a handgun I suck.
