    My take on this article...

    1911 in .45acp

    Revolver in .357mag

    AR in 5.56x45mm

    Pump shotgun in 12 gauge

    AK47 in 7.62x39mm

    Anyone else have an opinion...?!

The only thing I would change IMO, is the handgun to .45ACP

This is my pick for 5 also. But I was torn, and if I could add a sixth it would be a 10-22 rifle. Suppressed, would be even better. Good for small game. plentiful and light ammo and good for stealthy social work if it came to that.

    My 5 would be
    Brno/CZ bolt action 22 with a 4-12x50 scope with a 2 MOA.
Ruger SR1911 - 45 acp with a lee loading system for those who roll their own.
Ruger mark iii-22/45 with a bull barrel
O/U or pump 12 gage by CZ? Cause ruger don't make one!
308 heavy Barrel all American with a 24-36 x60 scope with a hood & a 45 degree side angle plate for a red dot for you know /n Zambiee less then a 100 yds.

Dang. Yet another topic to remind me I'm not completely covered!

    1. The Scout (Got it)
    2. A 5.56/.223 that is manageable. (The Mini Target is just too much mass)
    3. Shotgun (Need it)
    4. .45 (The P220 seems to be just fine for not being a 1911)
    5. Something to conceal. (Got a DB380, but really would like an LC9 so both of us have one)

I erred on the edge of shotgun for number 3 because I haven't really had the time with one to know whether that or the 10/22 would be the better MUST have. The other part of that is I know my Ruger already very well. A shotgun would be a completely new thing for me, the few I've shot haven't been that much fun.

Dammitol. Now I need a shotgun to play with.

20 gauges aren't bad, most of the time ;). (My wife says her Mossberg youth model 500 20 gauge kicks worse than my full sized model 500 12 gauge)

    My list is as follows
    1. Glock 9mm 17 or 19 (I have a 19)
    2. 12 Ga. Pump Shotgun (I have a Remington 870 Tactical)
    3. .22 Rifle (I have a Ruger 10/22)
    4. .308 Rifle (I have the Ruger Gunsite Scout)
    5. Revolver ( I have a S&W model 64)

Some folks may feel the need to substitute the .308 for an AR or AK and that would work as well. I am just not a big fan of either weapon. I would like to get an M1A someday though.

    .357 revolver (SW 686 plus)
    Semi auto (Glock 19)
AR or AK (Stag model 2)
    12 game pump (Rem 870)
    Bolt action (Ruger American .308)
    .22 Rim-fire (Ruger 10/22)

OK, so I have 6 which us the number the OP should have used. Each of these are specific tools for specific applications. There is no overlap or redundancy hear.
