I just picked up a Vaquero chambered in .44mag off of gun broker. When I picked the gun up from my FFL it says “New Vaquero” on the side. Correct me if I’m wrong, but I thought Ruger didn’t make the .44mag in the new Vaquero frames. I know the New vaquero has a smaller frame than the vaquero. I guess my question is...do I have a “new” vaquero with the same frame as the vaquero?

I can tell you the cylinder pin will not come all
the way out unless you remove the ejector housing. Again, to my knowledge, the new vaquero (smaller frame) cylinder pin will come out all the way without removing the ejector housing. I could be completely wrong. Just looking for any insight y’all may have, and any info is greatly appreciated.

I did find this online:

“Ruger’s 44 Magnum Birdshead Vaquero TALO exclusive is a stout firearm. Built on a large Vaquero frame”

The one I purchased is the TALO exclusive so I guess it is built on the larger frame.
