Awesome, got any pics? I've been wanting a 10/22 in 22mag for awhile, but I just haven't brought myself to pay the premium for one. here's my current 10/22
Just a plain Jane totally stock 10/22 carbine. Just a fun, inexpensive, fun little rifle with a Tru Glo 2X red dot scope on it.
Popeye, How do you like the 2x Tru Glo? I'm using a tasco 30mm 1x red dot on my 10/22 right now, but I've been thinking about an inexpensive magnified red dot for it. I like the looks of the Tru Glo 42mm 2x
I like it a lot ,because it's not to big and heavy and make the rifle feel top heavy. 2x magnification works well for what I need it for. If I remember I believe the one I have on the rifle is the 42 x2,and cost about $60 at Dicks Sporting goods. I might have gotten it on sale though.
je9659, that is a beauty, stock is gorgeous and I really like the bead blast look Chort1, I like that stock, is it an ATI? Did you do the camo or buy it like that?
Yes and yes. I did buy it this color and it was the only one I saw that seemed a little different. That is one of the reasons I got it. Has a stock barrel but has a trigger job and bolt buffer and flash hider. Very accurate gun.
I'm in! Love my 10/22 - the first one I got, I built into a little M1 Carbine tribute. Did the whole thing: stock kit, sling and oiler, front and rear sights and of course a Ruger 25 mag. Problem is, it shot so dang good I shoot it all the time! With these aftermarket, open sights, I'm outshooting my buddies using their .22 rifles with SCOPES. It's quite remarkable. We put paintballs on golf tees and shoot them off, and then shoot at golf balls hung from strings out at farther distances, and I can consistently keep up with or even outdo them with an open-sighted rifle. My wife and I liked it so much we bought 2 more 10/22's!
Welcome to Ruger Talk. Wht kind of stock are you looking for (tacticool, pretty, precision, 'clone' of some other gun) and what price range
This is what my 10/22 used to look like when I was concentrating on accuracy. Here is what it looks like now that I am concentrating on speed.
The only time I've ever seen them for sale is on gunbroker and they go for nearly $1000 on there, usually they are customized though.
bhale187,I think I payed $89 for my TruGlo 2X red dot from Dicks back in 08.I had mine mounted on a browning ATD(japan) 22.I bought what was called a Ruger single stroke .177 pellet pistol and have it mounted on it now. It's deadly on birds out to about 40 yards.Im a big fan of red dots now.My oldest is a first gen Aimpoint MarkIII model of 1983.My newest is a Russian Kobra I got for $219 back in 8/09.All my AKs like them.lol
Railbuggy, thanks the 2x model is the one I've been thinking about getting next for a plinker. its good to hear some positive first hand feedback. I too am a HUGE red dot fan. My SWAT carbine had an eotech and later an Aimpoint PRO, and nearly every long gun I own gets either a red dot or a conventional magnified scope. A good red dot offers such amazingly fast times for getting on target, I just love them.
