It is a blast.

IMO, tinkering with the 10/22 is as addictive as any gun out there. AR15s may be a close second, but the 10/22 has more and cheaper custom options so I think it wins out.

As I said in another post.

I was hot and heavy into AR15 building until the price madness stuck. Now I'm shifting gears to 10/22 customization. Been watching and reading tutorials on polishing, leveling and radiusing the bolt.

I'm going to do that on this one, and next I'll be building a free float thumbhole stock light weight tac driver for me to play with and my kids to learn to shoot with. I'm thinking timney trigger, volquartsen carbon fiber tension barrel, Boyds SS Evolution stock, and a mueller 3-9x40 or maybe a SWFA fixed 6x42 SS sniper scope. That one will probably be a work in progress for awhile as I slowly build it up

I had one of those stocks on my 10/22. After I converted my 10/22 TD to an ATI tactical stock, I bought another to replace the Tapco. I have the same Red dot but with a light on the lower Picitiney rail. As you said great fun for cheap!
