I'm sorry to hear that. Most laws turn out to be bad laws, but ones that get passed in a near panic are even worse.

New York has really screwed their residents. I have friends that live there and truly feel sorry for all you.

I have some friends that live in NY and they are selling everything and moving and I don't blame them one bit. I would leave at the first opportunity if I lived there. It is sort of like extending their lives!!!

Some, or should I say most, of us don't have the option of just up and moving. My ex resides here and I share time with my DAUGHTER. Since the the ex is generally to stubborn (or too stupid) to leave, I need to be here for my child. Second, I'm about halfway to retirement. After that, I DO plan to leave for a better state.

Unless, of course, something dramatically changes. Waiting to see.

Sorry to here that but hang in there and keep trying to find a way. I love the West and the way most of us think out here. Too many Dem. in the East that want socialism and the Government to support them.

Hi folks, unfortunately new york laws are now pretty much like mexicos´s gun laws, that leaves you mostly with bolt action rifles, but the worse will be if america ever needs its citizens to defent this great country.
how will the people of america defend their country with bolt action rifles nowaday?

USNVET - Sorry brother. With the old laws, us LEOs could have the unspeakable ARs and hi-caps as personal weapons. Now with this horsecrap they're shoveling, not even the SWAT teams can have a mag cap above 7. They're trying to fix it (another case of "if it ain't broke..."), but don't hold your breath. Waiting to see how this plays out. If it gets real stupid, might be packing up the truck after all. God, I shoulda done this 20 yrs ago.
