  1. Ruger SR22 v the Walther P22

With any number of modern rimfire pistols out there, you know Ruger has an entry in the race-- the SR22. This new and popular .22 is often compared to its closest rival, the Walther P22. Mountain lion, coyote and bobcats benefit greatly from well-managed herds of antelope, elk, deer, in addition to their standard quarry....everything else. In fact I used to make quite a bit of beer money by submitting coyote ear-pairs to the Oregon Hunters Association Bounty Program. At ten dollars a scalp, it pays for ammo and fuel and allowed my son and I to build memories in the outdoors. Well that was the...
  5. Ruger Announces recall on SR-556VT models due to trigger issues

This week Ruger initiated a voluntary product safety warning and recall notice on their popular SR-556 series rifle to correct an issue with the gun's trigger system. This recall does not affect all models of this rifle, only variants of the Varmint Target series with its two-stage trigger. According to Ruger, the cause of this was improper heat treatment by an unnamed vendor: "We have determined that the disconnector in the two-stage trigger system on our SR-556VT was not properly heat...
