You have to admit, that the 10/22 is one of the most iconic rifles ever made. Millions of these guns have come off the lines in the past half century and the aftermarket industry that has resulted from their spread is huge. You can argue that, with the possible exception of the Marlin Model 60, it's the most common rimfire rifle in the country.

Last year they brought out the Collector's Series first edition, a 50th anniversary model that commemorated the 1964-2014 production run of the modern rotary-box magazine rimfire rifle-- and it soon blew off gun store shelves.

Ruger has kept the rifle alive and in production with few changes to its core concept-- after all why if it ain't broke why try to fix it? However, the new edition has some great features to update the design that the company feels is perfectly suited to start a 10/22 collection, add to an existing collection, or simply enjoy the experience of shooting an all-new model of the 10/22.

And did we mention it's a limited-run collectable?

"This new Collector's Series rifle is another chance for our customers to get their hands on a limited-edition 10/22 - we are only producing them for a short time and in limited quantities," said Chris Killoy, Ruger President and COO in a statement obtained by Ruger Talk. "The first Collector's Edition was a great success and sold out quickly. We are excited to give our customers another opportunity to enjoy this special 10/22 model," said Killoy.

Ruger started off with a grey composite stocked 10/22 with the Modular Stock System that is fully adjustable for comb and length of pull, equipped her with a great set of Scout Rifle-style accurate sighting system ghost ring adjustable rear sights, Picatinny rail and the standard 18.5-inch cold hammer-forged barrel with a 1:16" RH twist. She tips the scales at just 5-pounds flat.

To top it off, the rifle comes marked with a Collector's Series bolt. Included in the package is some man cave swag in the form of a "A Father's Advice" Mini-Poster and Collector's Series pin. Finally, there is a $25.00 ShopRuger.com Gift Certificate to help buy extra mags, a sling, cap or whatever your heart desires.
